If you’re planning to study, work, or move to the UK, these updates could affect you 👇 1️⃣ English Language Requirement Update From 8 Jan 2026, the required English level for Skilled Worker, Scale-up, and High Potential Individual (HPI) visas will rise to A Level. 👉 Applies only to main applicants, not dependents. 2️⃣ Graduate Visa Changes From 1 Jan 2027, the Graduate Visa (post-study work permit) will reduce from 2 years to 18 months for Bachelor’s & Master’s students. 👉 PhD students still get 3 years. 3️⃣ Higher Financial Requirements for Students From the 2025–26 academic year, students must show more funds to prove they can afford to study and live in the UK. 4️⃣ Immigration Skills Charge Increase Employers sponsoring skilled workers will pay 32% more in the Immigration Skills Charge, starting this week. 5️⃣ Expansion of the HPI Route The High Potential Individual Visa is expanding to graduates from the top 100 global universities, capped at 8,000 people per year. 6️⃣ Support for Student Entrepreneurs 🎓 Students can now start their own business and switch directly to the Innovator Founder Visa after studies. 7️⃣ Global Talent Route Updates The Global Talent Visa now includes more eligible awards and achievements, especially for architects and creatives. 💬 Want the official government article? Muslim Charity Run, organised by East London Mosque called the event "inclusive" and "family-friendly" despite only letting men and boys take part. Speaking on GB News, human rights activist Lily Moo expresses outrage, telling Dawn Neesom: 'This is a systemic oppression of women in the UK that is becoming normalised by the Islamist movement that's also taking place.' An East London Mosque spokesman said: "The suggestion that our event breaches the Equality Act is entirely incorrect. "Single-gender sporting events are lawful under Section 195 and Schedule 23 of the Act, and are common across the UK, including the Women's Run Series, Nike Women's 10K, and gender-segregated swimming sessions at Orthodox Jewish facilities like Manchester Jewish Community Centre.
